Welcome to the Phoenix Fire Department Firefighter Recruitment Webpage this page has been set-up this to make thetesting process more understandable and helpful for you.  The Phoenix Fire Department is always looking for interested and qualified individuals and we look forward to seeing you apply with us.

Last year alone the men and women of the Phoenix Fire Department responded to over 150,000 emergencies while protecting the 5th largest city in the United States.

Qualifications – There are some qualifications the Phoenix Fire Department requires before you can test and be offered employment as a Phoenix Firefighter.

Hiring Process – The hiring process can be a very confusing process if you have never applied with us before.  You must first understand the application process is conducted by the City of Phoenix Personnel office and only one test is conducted every year.

Opportunities – There are many opportunities from Firefighter, Arson Investigator, Captain, Special Operations, and much much more.

Mentor Program – There are 6 organization's that are comprised of Firefighters that donate their time to help potential fire fighter recruits like you  apply the necessary skills for all aspects of the recruitment process.   This page gets you in contact with them.

Local EMT & Fire Science Classes – We highly recommend you take some preparatory classes to prepare yourself for a career with us. There are some classes required you must have before you are hired. 

CPAT Preparation – The candidate physical ability test (CPAT) is the physical for the Phoenix Fire Department.
